-

The Brookfield Elks rebounded from a Game 1 loss to defeat the White Rock Rockies 7-3 on Thursday in the second game of a Shooters Bar and Grill Fastpitch League doubleheader in St. Croix, Hants County.

The Elks trailed 2-0 after three innings, but scored four times in the fourth and never looked back en route to their fifth victory of the season.

Connor Hilton stroked three hits for the Elks and drove in a run, while Cody Anthony, Pat Laffin, Trent MacDonald and Patrick Stewart each added a hit and an RBI.

Laffin threw a three-hitter and struck out five.

In Game 1, Rockies pitcher Justin Schofield silenced the Brookfield bats by throwing a one-hitter and striking out 13 in an 8-1 White Rock win.

Schofield allowed just two base-runners in the game that was called after five innings due to the seven-run mercy rule.

Cody Anthony was tagged with the loss. He allowed 11 hits and fanned seven.

At Elk Park in Brookfield, the Nova Scotia Canada Games team won both ends of a doubleheader over the Colchester Royals by scores of 9-2 and 8-1.

In Game 1, Michael Willis swatted three hits and drove in two runs for the Canada Games side, which delivered the big blow with a seven-run fourth inning.

Levi Denny, Coby Crowell, Reid Lanceleve and Rowan Sears each added a pair of hits to the winning cause.

Dylan McCoul was the winning pitcher, allowing five hits while striking out three over five innings.

In Game 2, the Canada Games team had 13 hits in an 8-1 win. Willis led the way with two hits, including a homer.

Alex Anthony allowed six hits and racked up 13 strikeouts for the win.
