Truro man gets pro­ba­tion for theft

TRURO, N.S. — A Truro man who pled guilty to steal­ing from a lo­cal re­tailer was sen­tenced re­cently to four days in cus­tody.

Jonathan James Lin­ders, 39, of Young Street, was also placed on 12 months’ pro­ba­tion. His four cus­tody days were deemed to have been served. Lin­ders’s pro­ba­tion con­di­tions in­clude not pos­sess­ing, con­sum­ing or us­ing al­co­hol or il­licit drugs and suc­cess­fully tak­ing coun­selling for al­co­hol/ drug use, men­tal health is­sues, life skills and ed­u­ca­tional ad­vance­ment.

Lin­ders is also banned from en­ter­ing the Sta­ples store on Ro­bie Street and is fur­ther not per­mit­ted to pos­sess firearms or weapons.
