Santa Claus is com­ing to town with an en­tourage

Santa and friends will pa­rade through Truro mall

A host of Christ­mas-themed char­ac­ters will be vis­it­ing Truro Mall for a special cel­e­bra­tion to wel­come the Christ­mas sea­son to Truro.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be vis­it­ing Truro Mall this Satur­day, Nov. 18.

“On the first day, we al­ways do a big event for Santa com­ing to the Shop­ping cen­tre,” said Ja­clyn Johnston, mar­ket­ing man­ager for the Truro Mall.

“Santa will pa­rade down the mall with some of the cast of the Cobe­quid Dance Academy’s The Nutcracker. They are go­ing to dance dur­ing the pa­rade, fully cos­tumed, and will be avail­able for photo op­por­tu­ni­ties as well.”

Dur­ing the cel­e­bra­tion, kids will be able to have pho­tos taken with Santa with a do­na­tion to the Truro Food Bank, and the mall will be giv­ing away ac­tiv­ity books, wear­able antlers and a photo mount for those get­ting Santa pho­tos.

The Cobe­quid Dance Academy will also be giv­ing away a set of

tick­ets to their show, The Nutcracker.

Those in­ter­ested can en­ter by snap­ping a photo with one of The

Nutcracker cast mem­bers at the mall, and post­ing it on any so­cial me­dia plat­form with the hash­tag #CDAnutcracker17.

There will also be a con­cert by the Mini Mu­si­cians from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“Mini Mu­si­cians is a lo­cal fam­ily whose main fo­cus is on ed­u­cat­ing chil­dren on early mu­sic ed­u­ca­tion,” said Johnston.

“They hold mu­sic classes for chil­dren from toddlers to schoolaged kids. They will be set up near the Santa dis­play singing Christ­mas car­ols and songs.”

Santa and com­pany will be­gin parad­ing through the mall at 11 a.m. Satur­day be­fore set­tling down for pho­tos from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Af­ter the cel­e­bra­tion, Santa will be at the mall on Thurs­days and Fri­days from 6 to 8 p.m. and Satur­days and Sun­days from 1 to 4 p.m. for the rest of the sea­son.
