Man dead in all-terrain vehicle accident

NEW WATEFORD, N.S. — One person is confirmed dead following an all-terrain vehicle accident early Sunday.

According to the Cape Breton Regional Police Service, a 49-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that happened at approximately 4 a.m. on James Street in New Waterford. Police say no further information on the details surrounding the early morning fatality will be released until the victim’s next of kin have notified.

Members of the police service’s traffic safety unit and forensic identification unit continue to investigate.
