Nova Scotia wins women’s titles
It was a clean sweep for Nova Scotia in the women’s divisions of the Atlantic Rugby championsips at the Truro Saints Rugby Park.
The under-16, under-18 and senior women Keltics of Nova Scotia all posted wins to capture the gold medals, and for the most part it was done in convincing fashion.
On the men’s side, however, the Keltics under-16 and under-18 squads reached the title games but had to settle for silver as the strong Newfoundland Rock teams were a formidable force.
A trio of Colchester County players – Kaleb Johnstone, Riley GOLD MEDAL GAMES Under-16 Men Under-16 Women Macinnis and Liam Atwater – played for the under-16 boys provincial team, while Truro’s Ashley Giddens also competed in the event for New Brunswick on the senior women’s side. The Nova Scotia Keltics senior women’s rugby team cruised to a 35-5 victory over P.E.I. in the Atlantic championship final at the Truro Saints Rugby Park.
