Assisted living units proposed for Bible Hill
A local developer is proposing to build an assisted-living apartments complex in Bible Hill.
Ron Wallace of Wallace Investments has applied to the Municipality of Colchester to construct four apartment buildings that would contain a total of 128 apartments.
Information contained in the application said the apartments would be intended to provide assisted living for seniors who are incapable or unwilling to live on their own.
The property site, owned by Jack Bates, is at 221 Pictou Road, a vacant lot adjacent to Hubcraft Timber Mart.
Two of the proposed buildings would each contain 52 units while the other two are proposed to each have 12 apartment units.
County council also received an application for a change of zoning on two lots on Village Line Avenue.
Property owner Dana MacCoul is proposing to construct duplexes or semi- detached dwellings similar to other houses in the area.
Both applications were referred to council’s Public Advisory Committee for consideration.
