Legion conducting school and seniors’ home services

e Truro Legion is preparing for Remembranc­e Day on Nov. 11 by sending veterans into schools to meet with students.

Legion members will also conduct services at local seniors’ homes and a wine-and-cheese gathering will be held at its Truro branch this afternoon ( ursday) for the Ladies Auxiliary.

Veterans will visit Valley Elementary today at 11 a.m.

On Friday, groups of veterans will be at Colchester Christian Academy at 8:30 a.m.; Cobequid Educationa­l Centre at 8:55 a.m.; the Ecole Acadienne at 9:15 a.m.; both Central Colchester Junior High and Bible Hill Junior High at 10 a.m.; Harmony Heights Elementary at 10:30 a.m.; Truro Elementary at 10:40 a.m.; Truro Junior High at 10:45 a.m.; Redcliffe Middle School at 11 a.m.; North River Elementary at 11:45 a.m.; and Bible Hill Consolidat­ed at 1:30 p.m.

Memorial services will also be conducted at local seniors’ homes this week.

ese include Parkland at 2 p.m. today; Mira at 10 a.m. and Vimy Court at 2 p.m. on Friday; and 11 a.m. on Saturday at Wynn Park.
