RIOUX, Jocelyn Mary

-

March 25, 1960 (Montreal, Quebec)-march 17, 2020 (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) It is with great heartbreak and sadness that the family of Jocelyn Rioux announce her passing. Jocelyn was the type of person who made an impact on everyone who met her. S h e was beautiful inside and out; She was strong, authentic and sincere; She was kind. Her smile was bright and infectious, her sense of humour was clever and perfectly timed, and her generosity, especially for those she loved, was unmatched and unconditional. Being a proud Mum to her amazing, beautiful daughters was the greatest joy in her life. She loved them more than anything in the world, Cara Madore, Melissa (Sterling) Murray, Samantha Madore (Joey Schurman). In 2016, she became a grandmother to two adopted boys, who call her “YoMama”, and right away she loved them as if there had never been a time when they weren’t a part of her family. Jocelyn leaves behind her siblings, Robert Rioux (Danielle Allard), Jo-anne (Paul) Macaulay, Jacqueline (Mark) Pothier, and John (Linda) Rioux; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Gaston (Tony) Rioux and Shirley Elizabeth (Aitchison) Mcgrath. She is also survived by the love of her life, Ed Currie; and his wonderful family, who she dearly loved. While working at Sobeys for over twenty years, Jocelyn enjoyed chatting with customers and getting to know her co-workers, many of whom became friends. Jocelyn loved music and dancing and enjoyed countless great shows over the years. She loved to travel and saw many beautiful places with the people she loved. Spending time with family and friends and having a good time with a smile on her face was the most important thing to her. She also loved her little granddogs and is truly counting on her late granddog, Hank, to be waiting for her at the door. In keeping with Jocelyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
