Stanley Raymond Richardson

We regret to announce the passing of Stanley Raymond Richardson, 75, of Hilden, which occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Inglisvill­e, N.S., he was the son of the late Ernest and Evelyn (Whitman) Richardson.

Stan owned and operated S.R. Building and Repair and spent his working years in constructi­on. He was active with Boy Scouts Canada, square dancing and was a Charter Member of the Hilden Fire Brigade. In his earlier years, Stan was an active member of Hilden United Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Carol (Jennings); children, Darrell, Pam (Barry Cox), Marvin, Sheldon (Cathy); grandchild­ren, Arlene, Tyler, Cody, Kirk, Erin, Bryanna, Allison, Connor, Mady, Faith and Adrianna; siblings, Julia Llewellyn, Beatrice (Jim) Nemeth, Laurie Richardson, Louise (Gary) Wagner, Juanita Richardson, Ardis Richardson; sisters in law, Margaret Jennings, Evelyn (Lawrence) McLean; brothers in law, Edwin (Roberta) Jennings, Byron (Sally) Jennings; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by brother, Freeman; sister, Elva; brother in law, Earl Llewellyn; sister in law, Judy Richardson; daughter in law, Janet Richardson.

There will be no visitation by family request. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 5 at 2 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Reception to follow in Hilden Fire Hall. Spring Burial in Bible Hill Cemetery. No flowers by request.
