Tickets now available for Truro’s Easter Egg Hunt

Free Easter Egg Hunt tickets are now available to children aged 10 and under.

The eighth annual egg hunt will be held Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m. in Victoria Park and 1,000 tickets are being distributed.

“The tickets all go so people shouldn’t wait until the last minute to pick them up,” said Sam Madore, special events and culture co-ordinator for Truro. “I haven’t been to it before but I’ve seen pictures and it looks like a lot of fun.”

The event is hosted by Truro Parks, Recreation and Culture and the Downtown Truro Partnership Easter Bunny will be in attendance.

On the day of the hunt thousands of colourful plastic eggs will be placed in an area of Victoria Park. After gathering five eggs that match the colour of their ticket each child can exchange them for a treat bag. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

If weather conditions make it impossible to hold the hunt, children will be able to redeem tickets for treat bags at Douglas Street Recreation Centre during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from April 10 to April 13.

“It’s not likely to be cancelled unless there’s a torrential downpour or blizzard,” said Madore. “Two winters ago there was snow and parks and recreation carved a maze in the park so it could be held.”

Free tickets are available at the Douglas Street Recreation Centre, Truro Library and the Marigold Cultural Centre.
