Douglas “Doug” Leo Coulstring – 65, Truro, passed away peacefully March 16,

2017 in Colchester East Hants

Health Centre,

Truro.

Born in Waverley, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Marie (Cruickshan­k) Coulstring.

Doug was an avid musician for over 30 years in Alberta and beyond. Family was an important part of his life. Doug was selfless and had a great sense of humour.

Doug is survived by his wife, Gail Rushton; daughter, April George (Kevin); sons, Nathan Niles, Richard Rushton; grandchild­ren, Brookelyn Niles, Jack Niles, Kate Niles, Justin Rushton, Tanisha Rushton, Dylan Rushton; great grandchild­ren, Summer-Lynn Rushton, Paisley Alexis Rushton; sisters, Carol Bernier (Walter), Marie Coulstring (Carl Waterfield); brothers, Reginald Coulstring (Linda), Robert Coulstring (Nadine), Lee Coulstring, Keith Coulstring (Alma), Maurice Coulstring (Karen); many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Doug was predecease­d by siblings, Donna Coulstring, Norma Leighton, Kenneth Coulstring.

A Memorial Gathering to Celebrate Doug’s Life will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at 2 p.m. in Colchester East Hants Hospice Society, 89 Queen St., Truro. Donations may be made to the Colchester Branch SPCA, Colchester East Hants Hospice Society or the Palliative Care Unit of Colchester East Hants Health Centre.
