Judith (Judy) Marlene Courtney – 64, Harmony, passed away April 2, 2017 while vacationin­g in the Dominican Republic.

Judy was born in Springhill and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmothe­r.

Judy could often be found spending time at the cottage with family.

She enjoyed gardening, playing washer toss and quality time with family and friends. Judy actively volunteere­d with the Air Force Club and was President of the 102 Colchester Wing in Truro. She was also a volunteer with “We Care for Cancer” at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.

Judy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Judy leaves behind her loving husband, Albert “Jr” Courtney, Harmony; mother, Verda McLeod; daughters, Tammy (Mark) Bonnell, Harmony, Tanya (Jason) Cook, Harmony; grandchild­ren, Ashlee, Spencer, Courtney and Mitchell; brothers, Ronnie McLeod, Amherst, Dale (Audrey) McLeod, Truro, Bill (Marion) McLeod, Middleton; sister in law, Alma (Albert) Symes, Dartmouth. She was predecease­d by father, Allister McLeod; father in law, Albert Courtney; mother in law, Naomi Courtney.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebratio­n of Judy’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 1-4 p.m. in Royal Canadian Air Force Club, 22 Cottage St., Truro. Private family interment will be held at a later date in Harmony Cemetery.

Donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
