Bearcat-of-the-Week honours go to goalie, Jason Rioux.

In the opening game of the divisional final, he backstoppe­d his team

to a shutout win over the Amherst Ramblers, turning aside 21 shots.

He’s played all eight of the Bearcat playoff games and sports an impressive 2.01 GAA.

Eighteen games into his third midget season of hockey with the College Notre-Dame Albatros in Riviere – du –Loup, he joined the Moncton Wildcats, appearing in nine regular-season games.

He spent all of the 2014-2015 season with the Wildcats, making 17 appearance­s. Last year, he suited up with the Dieppe Commandos, posting a 3.44 GAA in 26 games and 11 more in playoffs.

He came to the Bearcats early in the off-season. In 40 Bearcat games he compiled a 2.93 GAA. He was originally a 2012 draft choice of the Val-d’Or Foreurs.

He and his tandem partner clearly have done their job getting the Bearcats in a good position heading into the playoffs.

Tonight, Game 4 is set for Amherst (7 p.m.). The series returns to the RECC, Monday, April 10 (7 p.m.), then back to Amherst on Tuesday for Game 6 at 7:30 p.m.
