Frizzell, Kathleen Beth “Kay” – Age 90, of Valley, Colchester County.

We are sad to announce the passing of Kathleen “Kay” Beth Frizzell of Valley, N.S. on April 18, 2017 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Albany, N.Y., the daughter of the late Raymond Dunn of the Magdalen Islands and the late Erma Johnson of Valley, N.S.,

Kay grew up in Old Harry in the Magdalen Islands, as well as Truro and New Glasgow, N.S.

Once married, she and Jack settled outside Truro in North River for many years and later in Valley. Before her marriage and even once married, Kay remained career focused, eventually working with Agricultur­e Canada where she continued until her retirement.

Not to be all about work, Kay enjoyed time at the family cottage on the Brule Shore for many years, followed Major League Baseball with a passion and loved to knit and share her creations with others.

Surviving are her husband, John “Jack” Frizzell of Valley; her son Ray (Jeff Chittick) and grandsons Ronald (RJ) and Spencer all of Dartmouth; sisters, Frances Archibald (the late Charles) and Sue Brenton (the late Kent) both of Bible Hill. Several cherished nieces and nephews also survive, Kay.

In addition to her parents, she was predecease­d by her sister, Vera Taylor (the late Wilf), of Whitehorse, Yukon.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the team at Cedarstone Enhanced Care in Truro and the many health care profession­als at Colchester East Hants Health Centre with special thank you to Palliative Care.

Kay supported many charities regularly throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of choice.

At her request there will be no services. Private interment will take place in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley at a later date.
