Centurions achieve success in the pool at Saint John meet
It was another successful swim competition for the Truro Centurions at an age group development meet in Saint John, N.B.
The meet featured swimmers competing in sprint races.
In the girls 12 and under category, Madison Bond continued her highly successful season with first-place finishes in the 100-metre back, 100M breast, 100M free, 200M IM, and 200M breast.
Julianne Dowe was third in the 100M back, second in the 100M breast, fourth in the 100M free, first in the 50M breast and second in the 50M free.
In the girls 13 and 14 category, Amy Barnhill finished second in the 50M fly and was sixth in the 100M fly.
Olivia Langley was seventh in the 50M fly and Emily O’Connor finished fourth in the 100M breast.
In the girls 15 and over division, Katie Archibald finished first in the 100M breast, second in the 200M IM and first in the 50M breast.
In the boys 13 and 14 division, Benjamin Mingo was first in the 100M back, second in the 100M breast, second in the 200M breast, first in the 50M back, second in the 50M breast and first in the 50M fly.
Fundraiser
The Centurions are gearing up for a Monte Carlo night fundraiser on Saturday.
The event will be held at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The grand prize will be $1,500 from Sell Off Vacations. Many more prizes will be given away, including an electric mounted fireplace and ethanol wall mounted fireplace.
Tickets cost $30 and can be obtained by contacting any member of the Centurions swim team or by calling the RECC at 902-893-2224.
Must be 19 years or older to attend.
