New location for popular Truro burger business being sought
Popular burger restaurant in Truro will close at the end of June. However, plans are in the works to re-open at a new location.

After operating for just under four years, Hub Grub will be closing at 239 Queen Street. But fear not, there are plans to reopen at a new location.
Owner Trevor Macdonald is confident he will be able to find a perfect spot to re-open his business.
“We were originally thinking of being here for a short amount of time, and then moving to a location that we can customize to what our needs were,” said Macdonald. “This was a restaurant before, and we took advantage of that to open with, and to see if Truro liked burgers – and it turns out they do.”
With the operation’s current lease coming to an end, Macdonald now has the chance to find a new location, and he’s been looking for the past year. “I
haven’t found the perfect situation for us yet. I have a few options and I will take some time this summer to figure out which is the best one.”
Macdonald announced the decision to close on the restaurant’s Facebook page June 1. “The public’s reaction has been a little bit of shock, but I do try
to use the word closing with the words ‘relocation process.’”
Hub Grub’s success over the last four years has been everything Macdonald hoped for. “We use social media as our main point of advertising, and the customer base along with their reactions to our posts has been awesome. Obviously without
our great customer base, we’re just a bunch of chairs and a nice grill.”
Hub Grub will continue to serve food until June 29 at 8 p.m. Customers with gift certificates can use them until the closing day as well as when the restaurant opens at its new location.
