Chase, William Albert, 82, Truro – It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of William Albert Chase on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Truro, he was the son of the late William and Olive Chase.

He worked at the Nova Scotia Teachers’ College until his retirement in 1994. After retirement, he enjoyed many years travelling to Florida in their motor home, but his most memorable trip was travelling across Canada, seeing the sights in California and travelling back across to Florida.

His special place was the cottage where he enjoyed being with his family and friend.

Gardening, looking after his apple trees and bird watching were among some of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed working with his hands and making projects in his wood-working shop to helping out the Boys.

He is survived by the love of his life of 63 years, Gwen (Mills); sons, William (Patrizia), Philip (Fahye Sharpe), Gregory (Heather); sister, Peg Hill, seven grandchild­ren; five great-grandchild­ren; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by brothers, Robert (Doreen), Burt (Betty).

The family would like to thank Dr. Sue Robertson at the QEII, for her many years of care and also Dr. Bruce Phillips, Dr. Dan Smith, VON and the nursing staff at the CEHHC in Truro.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16 from 1 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Glenn MacLean officiatin­g. Reception to follow the service. Interment in Lockerby Cemetery, Tatamagouc­he.
