McCallum, Sharon Joyce – 77, of North River passed away peacefully June 16, 2017, with her family by her side in Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Lillian (Bartlett) Lynds.

Sharon absolutely loved the outdoors, being surrounded by nature and enjoyed her independen­ce. She enjoyed biking, cross country skiing, gardening, especially her flower gardens, putting in her own wood and walking; she put more miles over Penny’s Mountain than anyone could imagine. Above all, her family came first and meant the world to her; she loved spending time with each and every one of them and the special times that they shared.

Sharon is survived by her children, Terry (Susan); Roger (Lorna); Darren; Jason; and Sonya; grandchild­ren, Cory; Jessica; Craig; Trent; Carlie; Cassadie; sisters, Patsy Spence; Gertrude (Hollis) McRae; Carol (Bob) MacKenzie; Bonnie (Eugene) Roode; Lola Dunlap; Laura (Don) Shaw; Diane (Rod) Forbes; brother, David (Priscilla) Lynds; many nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her husband, Clarence; a child in infancy; brothers-inlaw, Luther Spence and Roy Dunlap.

Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro where visitation will be held 3-4 pm Wednesday, June 21, 2017 followed by funeral service at 4 pm, Reverend Lori Ramsey officiatin­g. Reception to follow and interment in Aenon Cemetery, Central North River.
