Sharon Joyce McCallum

McCallum, Sharon Joyce – 77, of North River passed away peacefully June 16, 2017, with her family by her side in Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Lillian (Bartlett) Lynds.

Sharon absolutely loved the outdoors, being surrounded by nature and enjoyed her independence. She enjoyed biking, cross country skiing, gardening, especially her flower gardens, putting in her own wood and walking; she put more miles over Penny’s Mountain than anyone could imagine. Above all, her family came first and meant the world to her; she loved spending time with each and every one of them and the special times that they shared.

Sharon is survived by her children, Terry (Susan); Roger (Lorna); Darren; Jason; and Sonya; grandchildren, Cory; Jessica; Craig; Trent; Carlie; Cassadie; sisters, Patsy Spence; Gertrude (Hollis) McRae; Carol (Bob) MacKenzie; Bonnie (Eugene) Roode; Lola Dunlap; Laura (Don) Shaw; Diane (Rod) Forbes; brother, David (Priscilla) Lynds; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence; a child in infancy; brothers-inlaw, Luther Spence and Roy Dunlap.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro where visitation will be held 3-4 pm Wednesday, June 21, 2017 followed by funeral service at 4 pm, Reverend Lori Ramsey officiating. Reception to follow and interment in Aenon Cemetery, Central North River.
