McCABE, W. Wayne – 73, Upper Brookside, passed away suddenly Friday, June 16, 2017, at home.

Born in Kemptown, he was a son of the late Arnold and Mary (Embree) McCabe.

In earlier years, Wayne delivered meat and eventually became a self-employed livestock dealer, farmer and butcher and later worked in the woods. Not one to sit idle, Wayne was an extremely hard worker and will be remembered for his quick wit. He loved his home and never liked to venture too far from “the mountain” and always had time to spend with his grandchild­ren who he loved dearly.

Wayne is survived by his daughters, Tracy McCabe (Frankie), Truro; Tammy (Luke) Chisholm, Valley; grandchild­ren, Ryan Ramsey, Hayden Webb, Caitlyn Chisholm; sister, Marion (Jim) Elliott, Truro; brother, Gary (Pat) McCabe, Kemptown; special friend, Karen Faulkner, Truro; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with his parents, he was predecease­d by his son, Robert Wayne McCabe in infancy; son, Troy Wayne McCabe; brother, Eugene McCabe; nephew, Derrick McCabe.

Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Wayne’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2017. No funeral or flowers by request. If so desired, donations in Wayne’s memory to IWK Health Centre Foundation are welcomed.
