WILSON, James Creelman “Hank” – 91, Truro, passed away peacefully, with his good friend Ginny Moore at his side, on Monday evening, June 26, 2017, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro.

Born in Bass River, he was a son of the late Gordon and Daisy (Fielding) Wilson.

James was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In his younger years, he was a farm labourer in Lower Truro. He did various odd jobs, including cleaning windows and shoveling snow, for many people over the years.

An all-out friendly guy, there aren’t enough words to describe who James was and what he meant to his family and friends. He absolutely loved walking around town and his infectious smile and personalit­y will be remembered; he enjoyed talking with anyone he met and having a chat or sharing a laugh.

James is survived by his brother, Harry, Debert; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predecease­d by his sisters, Lillian Wilson, Freda (Alfred) Acker; brother, George Wilson. Thanks are extended to the staff of Townsview Estates and Cedarstone Enhanced Care where James had been cared for so well over the past number of years. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro, where James’ family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017, and funeral service 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2017, Mr. Stephen Brogan officiatin­g. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro.

If so desired, donations in James’ memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
