Gordon Harold Trueman

TRUEMAN, Gordon Harold, (January 2, 1937 ~ June 28, 2017), age 80, of Hilden, passed away peacefully at Willow Lodge Tatamagouche, surrounded by his family.

Born in Truemanville, Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Harold and Mary (Fillmore) Trueman. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He started his career with Louis MacKay Trucking, and drove trucks for many people. He owned his own truck and retired from King Freight Lines. After his retirement he enjoyed working in his own garage and gardening.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Judith (Chapman); his sons, Hal (Marg) Trueman, Tatamagouche; Dale Trueman, Waterville; Scott Trueman, Hilden; his daughter, Shelley (Dale) Whidden, Old Barns; 12 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by daughter, Sherry; sister, Audrey Ackles. Cremation has taken place, and arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro, where visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2017. Private family interment in the Hilden Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Harold’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, SPCA, or to a charity of your choice.
