Masstown Hardware breaks out the bats in victory

The Masstown Hardware Tide pounded out 16 hits and defeated the Mets 10-6 in the peewee/bantam division of the Bible Hill-Truro Minor Baseball Associatio­n.

Tim Porter went 2-for-2 with a double and triple, while Cole Turner added a pair of singles.

Five pitchers took the mound for Masstown.

Owen Carr drove in two runs for the Mets, while Ryan Hennesey, Brody Porter and Rocco Richard singled.

Blue Jays 4 Pirates 1 Both teams received outstandin­g pitching efforts, as there were only four hits in the game.

Blue Jays pitchers Isaac Crowe, Will Bowers and Jake McDonald combined to strike out nine, while Pirates chuckers Ethan Flemming, Liam Swan and Dominic Moore combined to fan eight batters.

Kenny Bowers singled for the Blue Jays, while Zachary Wilson stroked two singles for the Pirates and Tristan Gloade added a hit.

Red Sox 13 Yankees 7 Tyler Foley-MacKenzie played a strong game and showed lots of team spirit, while Chayanne Johnson-Benoit celebrated her first RBI for the Red Sox.

Mike Berry pitched a great first inning with three strikeouts. Jaeger Faulkner, Logan MacKinnon and Zach Gloade also took the mound for the winners.

Making a strong pitching debut for The Yankees was Robert Holmes. Also on the mound was Callum McClellan, Sam Walker, Zach McNutt and Nate Davidson.

Dawson Gilbert led his team at the plate with a single, triple and an inside-the-park home run.

Luke Taylor and Mason Trask made two great catches on fly balls.
