Potent combination

A local car dealership is mixing wine, women and wrenches for a social night out that offers the chance to learn some basics about car care.

Hollis Ford and Peller Estates are coming together to offer women a chance to socialize, win prizes and learn useful things about their vehicles.

A free evening of “Wine, Women & Wrenches” is being held at Hollis Ford on Tuesday, Aug. 15 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

“We’ve had similar events before but this has a bit of a twist with wine, cheese and hors d’oeuvres,” said Rick Hollis, of Hollis Ford. “There will be six or seven stations and people will break into groups and spend about 10 minutes at each station. We want everyone to have enough time to ask questions at the stations.”

Information will be provided at stations on topics such as boosting a battery, changing tires, hooking onto trailers and connecting phones to Bluetoothenabled vehicles.

“We want people to be informed on safety-related things, and if there’s a demand, we could hold these more frequently,” said Hollis.

He said if there is enough interest from men they will hold men’s, or mixed, events.

Pre-registration is necessary to ensure there’s space and that enough snacks and wine are available. The event is open to women at least 19 years of age and taxi rides home will be provided by Hollis Ford for any participants who want one.

To get a voucher for the event email Lorelei@HollisFord.com.
