MacDONALD, Leonard Joseph “Lennie” – age 65, Salmon River, passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side following a courageous battle with cancer on August 13, 2017 in Colchester East Hants Centre, Truro.

Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bernadette (DeCoste) MacDonald.

Lennie was employed by the Town of Truro beginning from the time he completed his schooling, having worked with them for a total of 40 years.

He loved sports, especially hockey and baseball. He was an avid coffee drinker at Tim Hortons. Time spent with his family, especially his grandchild­ren, were his favourite moments.

He will be deeply missed by family, friends and especially his wife who loved him dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pearl; daughter, Tracy (Andrew) Saunders, Hilden; grandchild­ren, Hayley Elizabeth and Melissa Kate; sisters, Beulah Brooks, Shirley Rushton, Norma Mcnutt; brothers, Carl (Jean), James; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by brothers, Joel and Francis in infancy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 16 from noon until time of the funeral liturgy at 1 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiatin­g. Interment in Watson Cemetery.
