Dance at Salmon River Fire Hall, 7:30 p.m.; shared lunch; music by Countrified and others.

Al-Anon

Cobequid Al-Anon meets Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at Douglas Street Recreation Centre.

THURSDAY, AUG. 31 Canasta

1-3 p.m.; Come and learn the game. $2 fee, or free to members. Colchester Historeum, 29 Young St., Truro. All players welcome.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 2 Dance Registration

Show Case Performing Arts fall registration for dance and musical theatre,

2-4 p.m. Dance wear shop will be open, Halliday Place, 184 Arthur St.; ages three and up, including seniors.

Dance

Old time dance, Toney River Community Hall, 7:30 p.m. Music by Raymond, Marlene and Lynn. Admission $7; shared lunch; proceeds for the hall.

Church Supper

Church supper, 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out) at Sedgwick Memorial Presbyterian Church in Tatamagouche. Casseroles, salads, baked beans, etc. Adults $12; children (under 12) $5. Proceeds for church purposes.
