Truro Raceway will host the nal night of Fast Fridays tonight.
e $1,575 top class features seven starters, including Distinctive Rusty, Smile Style, Catch Twenty-Two, Mortal Combat, Saulsbrook Quick, Glenview Paisley and the newest addition, Mr. Yokassippi, to the Dawn Ellis camp.
Mr. Yokassippi is an eight-yearold Ontario bred out of Flamboro with lifetime earnings of $90,600 and a life’s best of 153.4, recorded this year over Flamboro.
Qualifying rounds tonight begin at 5:15 pm. Post-time is 6:30 p.m.
Fresh faces
Race 5 features a fresh face on tonight’s program, Dragons Fire, a $6,500 claimer, owned by Wayne A Merner, Bible Hill and Virgina Merner, Port Morien, N.S.
August winners e four-year-old Woodmere Violator, owned by Andrea Rennison, Ryder Matthews Rennison and Cathy Benedict, picked up Hot Horse honours for August with 10 points, spearheaded by two wins, edging out Intrepidus and Mortal Combat, which tied for second with nine points each.
Cool Driver recognition goes to Ryan Ellis, who hit the leaderboard with 32 points and four wins in 10 starts. Paul Langille reported in with 30 points for the month for a close second-place nish.
George Rennison swept the trainer category, posting 31 points for August.
Retired
Dawn Ellis and Je Ellis have announced the retirement of May Hot Horse winner, Lil Orphan Cam.
e 14-year-old Ontario bred boasts a scorecard of 275 racing starts, 44 wins, 42 seconds and 39 third-place nishes with $187,879 in purse earnings and a personal best of 154.2 over Flamboro at eight-years-old.

Truro Raceway will revert back to regular Sunday racing (with the exception of Thanksgiving Monday) e ective Sunday, Sept. 17 with a 1 p.m. post-time.
