STUART, V. Arlene Anne – 76, of Truro, passed away peacefully on Sept. 7, 2017 at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax surrounded by her family.

Born in Summerside, P.E.I., on May 9, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Vera (Reeves) Moore.

Arlene was predecease­d by her husband of 52 years, Ken Stuart. She is survived by her son Rob (Kathy Fougere), daughter Allison (John Richards), grandsons Michael and Kyle, granddaugh­ter Katelyn, brother Bruce (Marjorie) Moore, sister Gail DesRoche and several nieces and nephews.

Arlene loved her weekly gatherings with her Bridge girls, time spent with her special friends both locally and in Florida, and her special Bulldogs. Long weekend drives in the direction where the sun was shining with the matching hats in the convertibl­e was also one of her favourite things to do.

She loved entertaini­ng in many ways, be it her impromptu sing songs at the piano to being a member of her band at Embassy Park. Arlene volunteere­d a large portion of her time to many aspects of the local hospital including Auxiliary, Hub Bub, Gift Shop and numerous planning committees. Over the years she also enjoyed time spent with the Marigold Guild of Needle Arts, Red Hats, Lions Club, Kinsman Club and Gyro Club.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday Sept. 13, 2017 from 1 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St, Truro with The Rev. Lori Ramsey o ciating. Interment at Terrace Hill Cemetery, Kaulback Street. Family owers only. Donations may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, CEHHC Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of choice.
