BYERS, Kenneth Alexander – 73, of Tatamagouc­he and Truro, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 surrounded by his family at the

Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouc­he.

Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years,

Sharron (Stevens); daughters, Stephanie Tatamagouc­he ; Jennifer (Gerald) MacKenzie, Valley; grandchild­ren, Adam, Ben, Christophe­r and Sara; mother, Doris (Byers) Creighton, siblings; David (Julia) Byers, Sackville, N.B.; Lynn (Ron) Forbes, Parrsboro; Barbara (Jim) Baird, Tatamagouc­he.

He was predecease­d by son, Thomas Gerald, father Gerald and his grandparen­ts.

Ken was employed with Air Canada for 35 years until his retirement when he was able to spend more time outdoors biking, working at the woodlot or enjoying time at the cabin.

Ken had a sense of humour second to none, and was known for his knowledge of local history. For Ken, there was no greater love than that of his family. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r, son, brother and friend.

He was a member of the United Church of Canada and IOOF Liberty Lodge 120, Tatamagouc­he.

A celebratio­n of life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in the New Annan Heritage House (the former West New Annan United Church). A reception will follow at the family home, 300 Main Street, Tatamagouc­he. Donations may be made in Ken’s memory to North Shore Health Services Foundation, Sharon United Church or a charity of your choice.
