Elisabeth “Betty” MacInnes — 86, Lower Onslow, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 in Debert Court, Debert, where she resided for the past six years.

Born Jan. 5, 1931 in Great Village, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Gladys (Simpson) Lane.

She is survived by children, Robert (Kim), Jo-Ann (Gary), Douglas (Wanda), Terri-Lynn (John); sisters, Hazel Berry, Ontario, Helen Boudreau, Halifax; grandchild­ren, Jonathon, Courtney, Chayce, Amanda, Blake, Elissa, Sydney, Zaria, B.J. and step grandsons, Mathew, Christophe­r and 10 greatgrand­children. Also part of Betty’s and Aubrey’s family were the many foster children they loved and cared for over the years.

Along with her parents, Betty was predecease­d by her husband of 64 years, Aubrey MacInnes; brothers, Hugh and Samuel Lane.

Betty’s most memorable moments were spent enjoying the beautiful coastline of the Bay of Fundy while camping with Aubrey at Carr’s Brook or Sand Point.

After residing at Debert Court, for the past six years, with daily visits from Aubrey until his passing nearly two years ago,

Mom will finally be reunited with the one and only love of her life.

There will be no visitation or service at this time.

In keeping with Betty’s wishes, her body has been donated to Dalhousie University for Alzheimer’s Research. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Debert Court who went “above and beyond” in their care of Mom for the last six years.
