Mum passed away peacefully Sept. 24, 2017 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Mum was born in Halifax, she grew up in Two Islands near Parrsboro. She was the daughter of the late Louis Bayers and Harriet Bardsley; stepdaught­er of the late Leo Patterson.

Survived by sons, Darrell (Barb), Londonderr­y, Raymond (Carolyn), Truro Heights, Brent, Belmont; daughters, Darlene (Winston Spicer), Debert, Heather, Belmont, Rosalie, Debert; son-in-law, Dale Powers; daughter-in-law, Sandra Works; adopted sister, Gina Clark, Green Hill.

Gram thought the world of her 22 grandchild­ren; numerous greatgrand­children and great-great grandchild­ren. Aunt Helen will also be missed by numerous nephews and nieces, whom she adored.

Predecease­d by husband, Charles Albert, daughters, Marilyn Griffin, Myrna Powers; son, Lawrence; brothers, Mick and Pud; sisters, Gertie, Maggie and Marguerite in infancy.

Mum spent the last five years at The Mira, which she considered home. She loved reading, bingo, game shows and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Her favourite pastime was spending time with her family. Mum had a great sense of humor and was always ready for a good laugh.

Special thanks to all her Mira family and staff at CEHHC. Also thanks to family physician Dr. Rafiq and Dr. Feltmate and the Colchester Community Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28 from 6-8 p.m.; Celebratio­n of Life service on Friday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
