Upham, Ida Lauretta, 94, Truro, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Nuttby, she was a daughter of the late Rennie and Hazel (Mackay) Macrae. Ida was a member of First Baptist Church Truro and a member of the Grace Archibald Auxiliary and also where she was a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the Good Time Senior’s Club, the Y Senior’s Club, and the Veteran’s Widow and Widower’s Associatio­n. She was an avid bowler in her younger days and loved to dance. She enjoyed travelling and visited many places like Switzerlan­d, Vienna, Alaska, California, Florida, British Columbia, Newfoundla­nd and many other places in North America.

She is survived by a daughter-inlaw Gloria, Truro; sister-in-law Doris of BC; grandchild­ren Stacey Lindholm (Jason), BC, Devin Upham (Stacey) Toronto, ON; grandsons Alexander and Thomas; Nieces Marlene Osmond

of Barrie, ON, Ardith Weins of Alberta, Beverly Pelley of Barrie ON, Bonnie Walsh of Barrie ON, Pat Jennings of Truro; Nephews, Tim Maclellan of Barrie ON, Bill Macrae of Truro; very special friend Elizabeth Crosby.

Besides her parents, Ida was predecease­d by her husband Harold Eldridge Upham; son Carl; sisters Violet, Lima; brother Burchell.

No visitation by family request. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Mattatall~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro from where funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 2:00 pm. Reverend Frank Locke will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Aenon Baptist Cemetery, Central North River. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
