Bearcat-of-the-week honours went to goalie Kevin Resop.

Last Saturday, in St. Stephen, he backstopped the Bearcats to a 2-1 win, ending a losing streak that stretched six games. Sunday, in Edmundston, he was busier, but the team came out on the short end of a 3-1 verdict.

Over the three-game road trip, Resop and Alec Macdonald allowed just six goals, clearly giving the team the chance to win.

Kevin got his hockey start on the streets of his home town before donning the blades with the Elleton Eels. He soon moved on to the Tampa Bay Lightning 96 “AAA” program. Next up was a two-year stint with the Shattuck St. Mary’s program. As a goalie with the Boston Jr. Bruins (U18) in 2013-2014, he was named Goaltender of the Year in the USPHL (1.84 GAA). The Halifax Mooseheads drafted him in 2014 and over the next three years played 79 Moosehead games. The Bearcats obtained his junior rights for the OCN Blizzard in July. He comes into the break with a 2.77 GAA complied in 24 appearances.
