DUNLAP, George William – 71, East Mountain, passed away peacefully, with Katherine and Linda at his side, on Wednesday evening, Dec. 20, 2017, at Willow Lodge, Tatamagouc­he.

Born in Truro, he was a son of the late John and Agnes (Hamilton) Dunlap.

An avid outdoorsma­n, he was a woodsman and trapper for most of his life who also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved music, played guitar and violin and enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash.

George is survived by four daughters; sisters, Anna Horseman, Comox, British Columbia; Matilda (Bill) Harrison, Edmonton, Alberta; Katherine Downing, Onslow Mountain; Shirley (Harold) Stairs, Burtts Corner, New Brunswick; brother- in- law, Calvin Peppard, Alberta; special friend and caregiver, Linda Rushton, East Moun- tain; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predecease­d by his sisters, Mary (Max) Graham, Bertha Peppard, Irene (Donald) Armsworthy; brothers, Andrew Dean, Thomas Dean, Jim Dean, Haliburton Dunlap, Robert Dunlap. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, Pastor Bruce Steeves officiatin­g. Interment in Belmont Cemetery.
