Rev. James Edward Sauvé “Bud” Tarrant

TARRANT, Rev. James Edward Sauvé “Bud” – 86, Harmony, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Montreal, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Violet (Sauvé) Tarrant.

Bud spent a few years working with the Bell Telephone Company, and then in the Navy as an electricia­n during the Korean War and later as a Protestant Chaplain on the west coast. The majority of his life, however, was spent as a United Church Minister, serving charges in Gaspé, Que., Dartmouth, N.S., Fredericto­n, Nackawic, N.B.,, St. Stephen, N.B., Truro and New Mills, N.B., from where he retired in 1996.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Bunnie; daughters, Chris Greek (Bob), Norman Wells, NT; Peggy, Edmonton; grandchild­ren, Rachael Verville ( François), Robbie Greek, Teddy Greek ( Carolyn), and Jay Tarrant; great-grandchild­ren, Ryan and Tina Verville, and Riley, Anna, and Lizzie Greek; many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was predecease­d by his sister, Mae (Ken) Mcphatter; brother, Vance (Marilyn) Tarrant. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to MattatallV­arner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiatin­g. Reception will follow. Interment will be held at a later date in Camp Hill Cemetery, Halifax. Family flowers only.
