Derrien, Louitta Hope, 71, Brookfield, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Elk Court, Brookfield. Born in Calgary,

AB, she was a daughter of the late William and Gladys ( Chapman) Macdougall. After graduation, Louitta worked for the bank in Barrie, ON for several years, later moving on to Ottawa where she studied and completed her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in French, while she worked for the Federal Government. She attended meetings in France as an interprete­r for the former Prime Minister Joe Clark. She later moved to the Yukon and worked as a private secretary to the Mayor of Whitehorse and later finished her career with ten years’ service with the Calgary Police.

She is survived by her son Frank Michael Derrien, Kitchener, ON; grand- daughter Morgan Derrien, Kitchener, ON; brothers, William “Bill” (Dawn) Macdougall, Calgary, Maurice (Anne) MacDougall, Debert; several nieces and a nephew.

No visitation or funeral service by family request. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Mattatall-varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Society or to a charity of choice.
