After Hal’s death, Beth returned to work as a school secretary and was a volunteer in adult literacy in Montreal.

Beth was a loyal friend and faithful correspondent, remaining in contact with friends and family via email, letters and birthday cards. One longstanding friendship blossomed into a loving second marriage with Harold Curry in 1991. Beth and Harold found great happiness together until Harold’s death in 2012.
