No. 12

Hometown: Bible Hill

Age: 16 Five-foot-seven, 160 pounds Position: Forward

Bearcat of the Week honours go to rookie forward Gavin Hart.

Gavin played a big role in both Bearcat wins last weekend. Friday, he assisted on the winning goal and scored the insurance marker on the power play in a 2-0 shutout win over the Crushers.

Saturday, he assisted on the winning goal, then scored his second and third power- play goals of the weekend.

He comes into this week with 10 goals and 17 assists. Seven of those goals are of the power play variety.

Gavin came up through the Truro and Area Minor Association, at all times displaying a strong offensive game. At the bantam level, with the Truro Major Bantams, he picked up 31 points as a rookie, followed by a 32-goal, 19-assist second season, averaging 1.34 points per game over the 61-game span. Last year, as a Pictou County Weeks Midget, he scored 19 and assisted on 21 others.

The Bearcats selected him as a 2017 territorial choice. He was also a draft pick of the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL. After a strong major junior camp, he returned to the Bearcats while remaining a Moosehead affiliate.

His adjustment to the junior level has been a good one and his contribution is a big one.
