-

The East Coast Music Awards has announced a free, all-ages 30th anniversary waterfront concert May 2 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The outdoor show will feature performances by Mo Kenney, Ashley Macisaac, MAJE, Port Cities, Kalolin Johnson and others.

“To kick off both the ECMA’S 30th anniversary and the season, together with great partners, we’re throwing a big, free, all-ages concert on the waterfront,” said Jennifer Angel, acting president and CEO of Waterfront Development, in a news release. “Bundle up, bring your friends and join our community in welcoming incredible talent to Halifax and spring to our waterfront.”

Staged on the north side of the Waterfront Warehouse restaurant and intended to be viewable from the water, the waterfront, the parking lot and vendor locations at Foundation Place, the event will serve as the official beginning of the 2018 East Coast Music Awards: Festival and Conference.

Waterfront Development will be offering free parking in these lots: Foundation Place ( 1549 Lower Water St.), Salter (1521 Lower Water St.) and Cunard (1325 Lower Water St.) from 5-10 p.m.

In tandem with an eclectic music lineup that features a mix of some of the region’s best upand- coming and seasoned acts, the concert also begins a busy season of events on the Halifax waterfront. Boaters are invited to pull up to the docks to watch the show.
