Thomas Arthur “Artie” Johnson; 83, of Hilden, passed away April 1, 2018.

Born in Truro on Oct. 30, 1934 to loving parents John Arthur ( Art) Johnson and Edna (Redden) Johnson.

Artie enjoyed the great outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or relaxing at his camp in the woods. He especially enjoyed get togethers with family and friends, entertaini­ng us with his wit, music and songs. He loved his annual trips with Elda to Florida. He worked for many years at a truck driver for Maritime Processing in Lower Truro until his accident in 1971.

He will be sorely missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Elda (Morrisey) Johnson. He is survived by his brother, Carl (Scotsburn), sisters, Phyllis (Kitchener, Ont.); Myrtle Dean (Truro) and Beatrice Totten (Truro); brothers and sisters-in-law, Percy, Donna, Laurie, Vonnie, Joyce, Carol. His aunt, Ruth Fraser (Musquodobo­it); dear nieces and nephews, Keith, Jan, Randy, Carla, Jody, Annette, Russell, Carol, Tony, Heather, Karen, Dale, Dan, Cathy, Cheryl, Julie and Mike. Several great nieces and nephews and their families and numerous good friends.

Besides his parents, Artie was predecease­d by brother, Earl, Donald (in infancy); sisters, Doris Anthony, Ola Armsworthy; nephews, John Robert Johnson, Gerald Savage Jr.; niece, Cindy Shay.
