Alberta Beharrel “Bert” Totten

TOTTEN, Alberta Beharrel “Bert,” 93, Truro, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 in Parkland Estates, Fergus Hall, Truro.

Born in Truemanvil­le, N.S., she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Vera (Beharrel) Chapman. Bert served as a WREN during the Second World War and later worked at various positions, until she retired from Sun Life Insurance.

She is survived by daughters Linda Totten of Truro, Vera and her husband Michael Chapman of Hilden; granddaugh­ter Corrie Lee of Truro; grandson Shane (Shelley) and his daughter Josie of Bridgewate­r.

Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband Lorne Rankin Totten; brothers, Carl and Paul.

Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Mattatall~varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro from where a Celebratio­n of Bert’s Life will be held on Thursday, April 26th from 3-5 pm. A family burial will take place in Bible Hill Cemetery, Bible Hill. Family flowers only.

Donations in Bert’s memory may be made to the C.N.I.B. or to a charity of choice.
