Green Diamond to sparkle and shine during open house

- BY HARRY SULLIVAN

Tractors large and small and equipment of varying sorts will be on display Saturday during the grand opening celebrations of Green Diamond Equipment.

And, kids “big or small,” can actually crawl up onto the tractors and other pieces of equipment to check them out,” said company spokeswoman Robin Sauvé.

“And kids love tractors,” she said. “We want people to be comfortable with our products and comfortable with our team and stuff.”

Green Diamond moved into its new headquarters on Hub Centre Drive in December from its previous location at the former Macleod Farm Machinery site in Lower Onslow.

After spending the past few months getting everything moved over, signage completed and everything else in shipshape, Sauvé said everyone involved is happy that the grand opening day has arrived.

“This is a brand new, shiny, beautiful building,” she said, of the 56,500 sq.- ft. store. About 30,000 sq. ft. of that is comprised of the repair shop, she added.

“They’ve got different pieces of equipment all set up in the showroom and different displays, Sauvé said. “It’s really to kind of showcase what we’re bringing to the community and the overall size. It’s a huge building.”

The Saturday open house runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 4-H members will be on hand barbecuing hamburgers and hot dots and other refreshments will also be available.

Balloons, photo opportunities and other “fun things” for children will also be part of the day’s activities, Sauvé said.
