SATURDAY, MAY 12 Indoor Yard/ Plant/bake Sale

Indoor Yard/plant/bake Sale 8 a.m. – 11a.m., St. David’s United Church Hall, Bible Hill (corner Pictou Road and St. David’s Avenue); rain or shine; hosted by Stewards.

Breakfast

Full Country Breakfast, St. Andrews United Church, Elderbank, 7 to 10 a.m.; buffet-style breakfast, variety of food; adults $10; age 6-10 $5; 5-andunder free.

Mother’s Day Dance

Royal Canadian Legion, Brunswick Street, 8 to 11 p.m. Music by Frank Lowe and Sidekicks; admission $8 per person; doors open 7:30 p.m.

Coffee Party

Mother’s Day Coffee Party, Brunswick Street United Church, 9 a.m. – noon; freewill donation. Pantry Table includes baked goods, preserves, etc.; plant with indoor and outdoor varieties.

Afternoon Tea

Downtown Abbey Afternoon Tea; celebrate Mother’s Day at St. John’s Anglican Church, Kaulbach Hall, Truro. Dainty sandwiches, desserts. 2 – 4 p.m. Tickets $10 at church office or the door.

Crib

Play Crib, 1:30 p.m. at the Good Neighbors Club, at 21 Palmer St.

Talent Show

Talent Show and Auction, 6:30 p.m.; amazing acts, fun and quirky talents and services for auction, St. Andrew’s United Church, corner of Duke and King streets, Truro. $2/person, $5/ family.

Fashion Show

Pre-mothers’ day fashion show, Four Points Senior Centre, Hwy 236, Latties Brook, from 2 - 4:30 p.m.; new, gently used clothing, etc.; lunch; $8 admission.

Mother’s Day Tea

Mother’s Day Tea, Upper Stewiacke United Church Hall at 11 a.m.; goodies, wine, tea, coffee; entertainm­ent, door prizes, etc. Tickets $20; to reserve call Colleene 902-671-2820 or Gail at 902-671-1933.

Pancake Breakfast

Truro Chapter, Kidney Foundation pancake and sausage breakfast with beverage, $5 at Sobeys, Prince Street community room, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Coffee House

Nazarene Church Gospel Coffee House, 6:30 p.m.; Art Macneil, Ellis Weir, Paul Comeau & Friends; freewill offering; shared lunch to follow.

Kitchen Party

Kitchen Party at the Lodge in Debert, 1 p.m. Parking at Debert School; coffee and tea supplied; 50/50 draw; $2 at door to assist with maintainin­g hall. Everyone welcome.

Queen of Hearts

Queen of Hearts draw, Tatamagouc­he Legion and North Shore Rec. Centre, held at the Legion; jackpot approx. $5,100; 25 cards remaining, 2 to 4 p.m.; Everyone welcome. Draw at 4:15 p.m.

Mother’s Day Breakfast/brunch, Tatamagouc­he Legion; bacon, ham, eggs, etc. 10a.m. to 1p.m.; everyone welcome; takeouts available. $7 children 12-and-under $4.

Bingo

Mothers’ Day Bingo, Wentworth Recreation Centre. Doors open 11:30 a.m. Play starts at 1 p.m. $3,300 in prize money guaranteed; entrance tickets $50; contact Laurel Adams 902-899-3634.

Jam Session

Monthly Jam Session, 2 to 4 p.m., Hilden United Church Hall; freewill offering and 50/50 draw; coffee, tea, homemade cookies available; in support of Gutsy Walk for Crohns and colitis.
