Man involved in stando ordered away from Colchester County

A man arrested after allegedly barricadin­g himself into an Onslow Mountain home Sunday morning has been ordered out to stay away from Colchester County.

Nicohlas Ian Macnevin-cole, 35, was released from custody on a $500 recognizan­ce during a bail hearing on Monday in Truro. Part of his release conditions are that he stay away from Colchester County except for court appearance­s and scheduled appointmen­ts with his lawyer.

His residence is listed in court documents as Marlow Road in Hanwell, N.B.

Macnevin-cole was arrested after Colchester District RCMP responded to a report shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday of a man with a rearm, who had barricaded himself at a residence on Onslow Mountain Road.

An RCMP news release said he exited the residence just after 12:40 p.m. Sunday through assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team.

Macnevin- Cole is charged with careless use of a rearm by dischargin­g a 12-guage shotgun into a wall at the home, assault with a weapon by holding the shotgun across a woman’s throat, uttering a death threat to the woman and assault causing bodily harm.

He is scheduled to enter a plea to the charges on June 13 in provincial court in Truro.

Other release conditions include obeying a curfew from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., not possessing, consuming or using alcohol or illicit drugs, not entering establishm­ents where alcohol is sold and having no contact with his complainan­t.
