Preparations moving ahead for Truro Pride
It’s going to be busy around town when Truro Pride takes place next month.
A week of events will run from July 14 to 21. The raising of the rainbow flag at town hall will be the first event on July 14 at 1 p.m.
“This year the parade will be on Saturday, July 15, with other events after it,” said Sam Madore, executive director of the Downtown Truro Partnership.
“We’ve been getting quite a steady flow of parade applications, and they’ll be accepted until June 27.”
The parade will begin at the Colchester Legion Stadium, at 2 p.m. It will go up Lorne Street,
to Queen, Commercial and onto Prince Street, ending at the Civic Square.
As soon as the parade ends, food, vendors, entertainment and bouncy houses will be at the square.
“There will be programs at the library during the week, and we’re working on a youth dance for Thursday evening,” said Madore.
“We have some details to finalize, but we’ll be announcing more things soon.”
