Blenkhorn seeking more success at Riverside

-

Truro’s Dylan Blenkhorn looks to continue his success on the Parts for Trucks Maritime Pro Stock Tour this weekend

Blenkhorn, the series points leader, will be in the field at the Ron Macgillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 at Riverside International Speedway. The race is Round 3 of 12 in the series.

Blenkhorn leads Cole Butcher of Porter’s Lake by just one point after the two drivers finished first and second in Rounds 1 and 2 – Blenkhorn took the checkers in the first race and Butcher won the second event.

Blenkhorn has three wins at Riverside, including the last two Ron Macgillivray Chev Buick GMC 150s.

Aside from the battle between these two drivers, race fans will see a full field of stout cars and talented racers all looking to get their name in the win column, including Craig Slaunwhite ( Halifax), Darren Mackinnon (Charlottetown) and Shawn Turple (Enfield), who round out the top five in the points standings.

NASCAR Pinty’s Series racer Jason Hathaway, of Stouffville, Ont., is also expected to race.

Besides the pro stocks, fans will see season-opening action for the NAPA Sportsman Series (NSS) in the Henry’s AUTOPRO 75, the first of four NSS races at Riverside this year.

Atlantic Tiltload heat races for pro stocks start at 6 p.m., followed by semi-features (if necessary) and the feature races for both divisions. The box office and grandstand gates open at 3 p.m.

Admission is $25 for adults, $10 for students (16 to 18), $5 for youth (8 to 15), and children seven and under get in free.
