survived by his sister, Margaret (Medynski) along with other extended family members. David was predecease­d by his brothers, Gordon, Raymond and Verl and sister, Florence (nee Crocker). David worked on the railroad, CNR, for 17 years and later started a pet food company, Pet Foods Canada Limited. He had a natural love and caring for others and would often and easily enter into an engaging conversati­on with anyone, which often included his telling of a life experience or funny story. He enjoyed life tremendous­ly through his love of the woods, horses and dogs. David was an avid hunter and fisherman who also guided others. He possessed a gift and had a deep passion for music – especially the piano which enabled him to devote himself to compose and record many wonderful songs left behind for others to enjoy forever. Many thanks are extended to Gerry Buyers, Barry Ryan and others for their support and encouragem­ent along David’s musical path. Visitation will take place Thursday, June 21 from

1 – 2 pm with funeral service to follow at 2 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Pastor Ron Ruse officiatin­g. Reception to follow. Interment will take place in Watson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or donation, please do something kind for a neighbour, friend or stranger as that is the way our Dad was and will be remembered.
