Art Under the Stars returns to Truro for a night of fun

A starlight art show is being held in Truro.

“Art Under the Stars will include ne arts, crafts, food and drink, live music,” said Andrea Carroll, who is organizing the event. “It’s about a relaxing evening with a chance to meet some of the people who make beautiful things in the neighbourh­ood.

“Many people feel separate from artists, and this will give them a chance to talk to them and learn about making art.”

About a dozen artists have committed to showing their work, with print makers, textile artists, painters, photograph­ers and potters participat­ing.

e Cobequid Educationa­l Centre jazz band will be providing music, and Kate Zwicker will be entertaini­ng people with cirque hula-hoop demonstrat­ions.

Chill Street craft beer and cider, Tata Brew, and Taco Stiles will also take part. e Truro Farmers’ Market has provided canopy tents so the event can go ahead rain or shine.

Art Under the Stars is being held in the parking lot at Macquarrie’s Pharmasave, Esplanade location, from 6 to 9 p.m. on ursday, July 5.

“This is all volunteer-run and we’d like to keep it growing,” said Carroll. “We’ve got some really cool ideas for next year.

“It’s about bringing art into the community and demystifyi­ng it.”
