Roadwork around the area

The province is warning motorists that sections of highways will be closed or blocked due to road work over the next month in Colchester, Cumberland and Pictou counties.

The projects in Colchester County include:

• Bible Hill’s Vimy Road from College Road to Brookside Road reduced to one lane for patching and paving until Friday, Aug. 31 for about two kilometres. Work will place from daylight to dusk.

• Farnham Mill Road, Brookside from Route 311 to Brookside Road is reduced to one lane for more than one kilometre for patching and paving until Friday, Aug. 31. Work will take place from daylight to dusk.

• The northbound right lane of Highway 102 from Brookfield to Truro will be closed for roadworks until Friday, Aug. 31. Work will take place from dawn to dusk.

• Highway 104, westbound from East Mountain for about seven kilometres, will have a right lane closure for roadwork until Friday, Aug.

31. Work will take place from dawn to dusk.

• Highway 104, eastbound from Onslow for about ve kilometres will have a right lane closure for roadwork until Friday, Aug. 31. Work will take place from dawn to dusk.

• Route 311 from Stewart’s Bridge in North River, for six kilometres north to Upper North River, is re- duced to one lane for patching and paving until Friday, Aug. 31. Work will take place from daylight to dusk.

• Riverside Road in Princeport from Trunk 2 westerly, for about ve kilometres, is reduced to one lane for patching and paving until Friday, Aug. 31. Work will take place from daylight to dusk.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY:

• Nappan Marsh ( Rainbow) Bridge over the Nappan River on Trunk 2, outside Amherst, is closed until further notice. A detour is available on Route 302, Southampto­n Road and Smith Road. Tra c approachin­g Amherst is being rerouted a short distance on the Nappan and Lower Porter Roads, while tra c leaving Amherst is required to detour on Smith Road.

PICTOU COUNTY:

• Route 348 in Pictou Landing is reduced to one lane from 500 metres east of Well Hill Road to Lewis Road for paving until Friday, Aug. 31. Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Tra c control personnel are on site. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution when travelling through a constructi­on zone.

• Highway 104, westbound from about one kilometre east of Exit 24, Stellarton to Exit 21, Westville, about seven kilometres is reduced to one lane for road work until Friday, Aug. 31. Tra c control is on site. Work will take place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
