Edith Uta “Edie” Lemon - 81, Valley, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, September 25, 2018, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Fort Belcher, Colchester County, she was a daughter of the late William “Bill” and Margaret (Higgins) Stone.

Edie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmothe­r who was greatly loved and will be sadly missed. She was the life of a party, fantastic cook, enjoyed shopping and had a soft spot in her heart for animals, especially her dog, Smirnoff and her cat, Carolina. Edie was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by her husband of 58 years, Victor Allen Lemon; children, Lester Stone, Oxford; Doug Lemon (Donna Macnutt), Terry Lemon (Cindy Sellers-Lemon), Vickie Lemon, Joy Lemon, all of Valley; stepgrandd­aughter, Shannon Sellers, Valley; sister- in- law, Vern Stone, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predecease­d by her siblings, Russell ( Lois) Stone, Bud Stone, Cynthia (Herb) Daniels, Kay (Wayne) Matheson. Private graveside service was held in Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiated. If so desired, donations in Edie’s memory to SPCA ( Colchester Branch) or charity of choice are welcomed. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
