Juno Award winners Walk Off The Earth will be performing at the Rath- Eastlink Community Centre on Feb. 9.

“We are thrilled that Walk Off The Earth has selected our venue as their only Atlantic Canadian stop this February,” RECC general manager Matt Moore said of the multi-platinum band. “We have no doubt that our local community and surrounding areas will pack the RECC and make this one to remember.”

Based in Burlington, Ont., Walk Off The Earth exploded on YouTube by garnering more than 180 million views with its interpretation of Gotye’s Somebody That I Used to Know, when its five-member band all played one guitar.

Since then, the band has released a string of successful original songs, sold out venues across the globe and collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the world, including Keith Urban, Snoop Dogg, Nicky Romero and Steve Aoki.

The band’s latest single, Fifth Avenue is described as a “buoyant and optimistic track” about New York City and the important role it has played in the band’s success.

Pre-sale tickets for the all-ages show go on sale Thursday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. for RECC members.

Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m., starting at $59.75 and can be purchased at the Welcome Centre on the RECC’S main floor, online at ticketpro.ca, or by calling 1-888-311-9090.
